What's in The Flour Bin
Our aim is offer quality, healthy and undiluted products which are produced with little waste and sourced to support the UK's economy.
RAW WHEAT
Food at its healthiest.
All our food products are natural & sourced from farms using organic methods. We search out farmers whose ethos is to provide a product that is what we like to call 'undiluted'. This means the wheat has been allowed to grow in a natural, non-intense way. Free from chemical coating and pest control.
We believe that quality flour is milled from grain which roots grow deep, enabling it to draw rich nutrition into each wheat berry.
In order for each grain, be it Wheat, Spelt, or any other type, should be milled in a way that it maintains as much of this nutrition and vitamins as possible. Stone grinding flour gives us that ability. Its slow grinding avoid the grain/flour from over heating which would otherwise reduce the goodness. Our aim is to source organically grown grain allowing for a pure and undiluted flour to reach your home, and in turn you will be healthier for it.
Using the wholegrain also gives you the fat, vitamins and minerals that can easily get lost when separated. So use wholemeal as much as possible to get as much nourishment as well as benefit from the extra fibre.
There are some great recipes to help you get wholesomeness in every bite.
Our flours contain NO additives, enhancements nor synthetic improvers.

BUY BRITISH
The UK has been through a difficult time over the last couple of years and we want to help and do our part to grow our economy. It means investing in businesses and people who live and make their money in this country. We therefore choose to buy
produce grown in the UK.
We believe this goes hand in hand with Farm to Fork, the more we connect with one another the more we know each other and are able to help build a network of support to make sure that everyone and every business thrives, even when times are tough.
"The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops." - Paul of Tarsus

FARM TO FORK
Did you know that many farmers do not eat their own produce?
For example the farmer who grows grain for bread, harvests his grain once a year and sends tonnes of it in lorries to a company that cleans and prepares it for milling. When it arrives at the large milling plant, most likely not near the farmers home. It is then mixed with other grains (from other farmers) and ground into flour. This then through a long and large volume process is turned into loaves of bread and packed. From there is will be distributed to a destination as ordered by the supermarket, bread company or bakery across the nation. Most products do not list the grower, miller or baker on their packaging. The best you can get is the name of the country or area or origin.
Somewhere along the line we have lost the connection between farmer and consumer. This counts not just for grain and flour. What about fresh produce, fruit and veg. It would be easier to support your local farmer, home baker, food entrepreneur if the links were closer together.
We like to know where our food comes from, who grew the grain, milled it and baked it. It is possible to know where your food comes from.
Want to know who grew the grain? Ask us!
As much as possible we like to meet the farmer, baker and you customer.
The more we know each other the better we understand what you the consumer likes.
Let's talk, tell us what you like, how we can change or improve what we do. You matter to us!

Less Waste
It is not new to any of us to hear that we need to heal our environment by lessening waste. Whether it is air or land pollution we all are encouraged to play our part to make a difference in both the small and big ways.
We want to do our part in cleaning up the environment by re-using materials, avoid plastics that cannot be recycled.
We have decided to use packaging that is made from/or can be recycled.
We aim to use all of the grain, no waste there, and help give you ideas of how you can do your bit.
